Korea MMA Federation Participates in 2026 AMMA Asian MMA Referee Seminar

The Korea MMA Federation has dispatched its official referee delegation to the 2026 AMMA Asian Mixed Martial Arts Referee Seminar, held in Luzhou, Sichuan Province, China.

The seminar takes place from January 5 to 7, 2026, at the Howard Johnson Liquor Capital Hotel in Luzhou. The program is designed to strengthen referee education, improve officiating standards, and support the continued development of amateur mixed martial arts across Asia.

To select its representatives, the Korea MMA Federation’s Referee Committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation process covering theoretical knowledge, practical officiating ability, and foreign language communication skills. Following the assessment, referees Ko Young-wook, Kwon Se-yoon, and Park Seung-chan were selected to represent Korea at the seminar. The delegation departed from Incheon International Airport for Chengdu, China, on January 4.

The seminar will be followed by the 3rd AMMA Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championships, scheduled to take place from January 9 to 11, 2026, at Olympic Park Stadium.

The Korean national team delegation will depart according to the competition schedule, led by Park Pyeong-hwa, Senior Vice President of the Korea MMA Federation and CEO of Black Combat, together with Jeon Yong-jae, Secretary General and CEO of Paraestra Korea.

Korea MMA Federation President Jeon Jae-won emphasized the importance of referee development as the foundation of sustainable growth in amateur MMA.

“As the foundation of amateur MMA in Korea continues to expand rapidly, the professionalism of referees and a systematic management structure have become increasingly important. Referees, just like athletes, represent their country, and we hope they will return with meaningful experience and a strong sense of responsibility.”

Through its participation in the seminar, the Korea MMA Federation continues to support international cooperation, referee education, and the development of high standards for amateur MMA across the Asian region.
